About Me

Pam Covarrubias wearing a hat sitting on a chair

I do it for my mom. I became the business coach she needed.

Thank you for being here.

I am Pam Covarrubias with a big RRRRRoar in CovaRRRubias. If you don’t roll your Rs, I want you to try to say my name and feel the miles my mom travelled when she crossed the border and English speakers would make fun of her. I won’t make fun of you. I’ll smile with compassion and invite you try again. My correctly pronounced name honors my lineage, my identity and my humanity. I will say your name as you give me permission to say it.

I grew up in Mexico City, but I was born in the United States. In other words, I’m an immigrant to the US with the privilege to be a US citizen. Super wild, and I’m grateful to have so many opportunities just because I was born here. I promise, I don’t take it for granted. I have learned to navigate the intricacies of what it means to be someone like me in the United States while staying true to my core values.

I am based in the original land of Kumeyaay Nation, now known as San Diego, California and I live part time in the land of Cheyenne Nation, now known as Denver, Colorado with my partner, David. We have been in a long distance relationship for 7 years. Just because it works for us, doesn’t mean it needs to work for everyone. And no, we are not looking for suggestions, Brenda. Thank you.

I am a rebel and a disruptor by nature.

I like deep thought-provoking questions and I suck at small talk. Don’t talk to me about the weather, tell me what is the last thing you ate that evoked an explosion of pleasure in your mind and soul.

I became a business coach after my life coaching certification. I had the opportunity to start coaching small businesses for a non-profit and I fell in love. I was helping Spanish speakers navigate the small business world in the United States as immigrants and first-time business owners. They were doing it without speaking the language fully, without knowing the law, and they were making their dreams come true. Their American dream comes true in their own unique way.

Who I do it for

For the immigrant who just crossed the border looking for her American dream. For the single mom working late nights on her business. For the women who have been harassed at work and who have had to navigate the bureaucracies of Corporate America. I see you. For the second or third-generation Latine who struggles with their identity and wants to feel like they belong, so they create a business that speaks to them.

I do it for the generations to come because I believe when we start small businesses and build generational healing that can be passed on to the next generation, we create a revolution.

I grew up with a single mom raising three kids by herself. She moved countries and chose to bring us to the United States to give us a better life. I do it because she’s worked arduous jobs to give me a better chance. For my mom. I dream of retiring her one day.

About business

Foundationally, I have been trained in traditional business practices. Capitalist business practices. I believe there’s a better way to do business. I believe we can do business sustainably for everyone involved. I believe in transparency and honesty. And I absolutely believe you can make a lot of money this way.

It is no longer about getting the best price for the least effort, it is about finding amicable ways to make sure everyone wins, always.

I want you to commit to unlearning the oppressive practices we’ve learned in business school and mainstream media. It is a beautiful journey of exploration and trust. Once you arrive you’ll feel the magic of co-creating with others.

My body of work

For the last 10 years, I have worked with small businesses and I have helped them develop their brands and operational structures. Across the last 5 years, I have focused specifically on helping small businesses and entrepreneurs build sustainable embodied businesses.

I have developed business accelerator programs and curriculums, coached multi-million dollar companies, and lead several workshops on mindfulness and productivity.

I talk a lot about creating sustainable embodied businesses because I want all business owners to realize they can create businesses they are proud of without assimilating American culture or giving up their identity and culture.

My clients care about maintaining their culture while building generational healing for the people who come after us.

It is time to build liberation through our business and thrive.

Lineage

I have arrived in this world with little knowledge and I’m grateful to have gained more wisdom from the humans I’ve encountered and trainings I have been very fortunate to receive.

I have a BFA in Graphic Design with an emphasis on Photography and a minor in Spanish (this one I had to take a test to get the minor. Yay for Spanish being my first language, wild for me to take a test and get a minor from that).

I am a Certified Crystal Healer, Certified Life Coach, Certified EFT Practitioner, and I have a certification in Women in Entrepreneurship by Cornell University.

I am a trained EFT Practitioner, and I have gone through the Crisis Text Line training. This gives me an understanding of trauma and how humans react as they are in crisis mode.

My work has been featured in Oprah Magazine, Oprah Daily, Hola Magazine, USA Today, and more.

I have learned and continue to learn from incredible women like Tay Triggs, Rachel Rodgers, Kelly Diels, Margaret Lynch, Ada Maria Isasi-Diaz, Ash Robinson, Linda Garcia, Dr. Rocio Rosales Meza, Rachael Maddox, Naomi Jansen, Naomi Janzen, Usha Anandi, Femily, and Dr. Mozelle Armijo. This list continues to grow. I am grateful these women have believed in me, or passed on their knowledge and wisdom, directly or indirectly through their programs and teachings.

My blood lineage: my mother Leticia and both of my grandmothers Carmen and Ofelia continue to teach me the power of connecting to my inner voice. My father Osvaldo who always insisted on embracing my magic, who taught me to believe in it more than the bullies laughing at the fairy dust. I know it’s real.

Because I am magic.

I believe you are magic too. Let’s work together.

Hola I am Pam - here’s the first person bio

I'm a Resonance Business Coach, Podcaster, and Recovering Procrastinator*.

I serve first generation women, femmes, and procrastinators looking to liberate themselves from Calladita Culture™️ so they can embrace rest and invite health and freedom. Together, we will explore intentional liberated ways to do business and we unblock harmful thought patterns (you know, your mean inner voice), to get you to uncover your confident voice.

You can find me speaking Spanglish often. I invite you to feel at home when I start speaking Spanish to you, it is my way of showing my comfort. I live for deliciously prepared coffee in the morning and the quiet that happens before the world wakes up. I believe we can exist in a world where everyone is seen for their full humanity. Like, manipulation is so yucky and many people in business do that. Let’s not.

I’m probably rearranging my desk right now and looking for that post-it note I wrote last week.

Let’s create liberated businesses together.

*I have learned to embrace my ADHD and I continuously work on my fear of perfection. I am a work in progress and I continue to embrace it.
